As part of our extensive Science Technology Engineering and Maths (STEM) programme within Our Lady’s, a number of Sixth form students have launched their entry into the United Kingdom Aerospace Youth Rocketry Challenge.
Tara Morgan, Sarah Heatley, Lauren Mc Garry and Katie Morgan have teamed up with Our Lady’s sponsor, Armagh Planetarium, who are supporting their efforts to reach for the stars!
The challenge: The 2012 UK Aerospace Youth Rocketry Challenge is to launch two raw hen’s eggs to a height of exactly 800ft in a rocket weighing no more than 650 grams, and return the eggs safely to ground within 43-47 seconds.
Launch date is Friday 23rd March at Langford Lodge, Aldergrove, where the girls will put their endeavor and innovative design to the test.
