OUR LADY’S V ST. PAUL’S KILREA
Our Lady's Grammar School, Newry strolled through the Senior D Sciath Roisin Mhic Mhanais Camogie competition notching up impressive wins in all their games and were favourites to take the title against St Paul's Kilrea, avenging the defeat of two seasons ago. In horrendous conditions, of swirling wind and persistent rain, the final was played at Killyman GFC. Playing against the strong breeze, Our Lady's despite their dominance, failed to capitalize and it wasn't until the 10th minute that St Enda's player Niamh McCarthy opening the scoring with a well taken point, followed by a cracking goal from team captain Grace Brown. Our Lady's strong defence lead by Jacqueline Girvan Kellie Murnion and Aoife Brown sustained several attacks from St Paul's but Emma Lagan got on the score sheet, followed by another point from Danielle McAllister to leave the half time score Our Lady's 1- 1 St Paul's 2pts.

The second half got off to a blistering start with Our Lady's, Hannah O'Reilly scoring a point, followed by a goal from Aoibheann McCarthy. These scores prompted an equally impressive response from St Paul's who stormed back with a point from a free by Gemma Weir, followed by 2 quick goals from Emma Weir and Megan McCusker. Nevertheless Our Lady's through pure grit and determination fought back into the game but were denied several times by Una Bradley the St Paul's goalkeeper, who was outstanding. A goal from Hannah O'Reilly with 15 minutes to go, followed by points from Cliona Murtagh, Christina McConville, Lauren McConville and Mary Kate McGrath was enough to clinch the Ulster Title for Our Lady's.

Final Score OLS 3- 6 St Paul's 2-2 Our Lady's now progress to an All Ireland semi final in February.
Best for Our Lady's were Jacqueline Girvan, Grace Brown, Orla Gribben, Niamh McCarthy and Cliona Murtagh.
Best for St Paul's was goalkeeper Una Bradley, Gemma Weir, Danielle McAllister and Megan McCuster.
