Our Lady’s U16 Camogs Reach Ulster Final
After a thrilling encounter, played in Park Lynch Ballyholland, against St Marks High School Warrenpoint Our Lady’s U16 Camogs reached the Ulster final. The game was nail biting from the throw in with both teams cancelling out scores in the first half leaving it level at 6 points each at half time.
Our Lady’s defended brilliantly and debutant goalkeeper Lauren Garvey commanded her line, pulling off some terrific saves. She had great support from 3rd year student Meabh Smith, who has improved in every match. Niamh Mc Carthy had the difficult task of marking St Mark’s star player Coleen Murtagh and what a super job she did. Up front Ciara Tinnelly was outstanding, ably assisted by Lauren Mc Conville, Mairead Grant and Sara Armstrong.
The old adage that goals win matches was certainly true because with one minute to go Our Lady’s, who at that stage were trailing by two points, got the all important goal.
Final score St Mark’s 9 pts Our Lady’s 3 - 1 pt Congratulations to the team and their coach Mr. Clements. Our Lady’s now await either St Patrick’s Knock or Sacred Heart Newry in the Final.
