SPECIAL OLYMPICS LAW ENFORCEMENT TORCH RUN
The Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run, organised jointly by PSNI and An Garda Síochána, made a special visit to Our Lady’s as part of its journey to Limerick for the 2010 Special Olympics Ireland Games.

The torch was carried into Our Lady’s by athlete Ross Stewart and Schools’ Liaison Officer, Constable Warren Todd, and was accepted on behalf of the School by Mrs Teresa McAllister, Vice-Principal, and Ms Shauna O’Dwyer.
Staff and pupils in Our Lady’s were delighted and privileged to welcome Ross, along with Special Olympics Committee Member, Mrs Aiveen Best and members of the PSNI, to our school and to present them with a cheque towards the work of Special Olympics Ireland.

The Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run marks a week-long countdown to the 2010 Games. During that week the Flame of Hope will be carried throughout Ireland by members of the PSNI and An Garda Síochána and will make its way to 57 locations.
The final leg of the Torch Run will take place on June 9th when the Flame of Hope arrives at the Opening Ceremony of the 2010 Special Olympics. Here the cauldron will be lit to signify the start of the Games.
