The members of the musical group 'Pléaráca' with mentor Mrs Rose Smith

2010 has been another busy year for the members of the school traditional music group.  The girls reached the Ulster final of the Gael Linn ‘Siansa’ competition which was held in Cavan in March.

In April the group lifted the Kevin Devlin cup for the second time at Newry Feis.  This competition took place in the crowded auditorium of Newry Arts Centre and all the local schools took part.

Next up was a live performance for RTE Raidió na Gaeltachta in the Canal Court Hotel as part of the Celtic Media Festival.

Following the school concert Pléaráca has been invited to represent the SELB at a conference in the Waterfront Hall in Belfast.  This will take place on the 17^th June and it is a great honour for the school to be involved in such a project.

Finally we must thank Mr Bradley for all his help throughout the year and indeed Raphael, our French assistant  - our biggest fan!
