Sporting Success for Our Lady's

 

Orienteering

Congratulations to Helen McParland and Aine McCreesh who came 1st and 3rd respectively at the Armagh Annual Orienteering festival held at Palace Stables, Armagh on 6th May. They will be presented on 8th June in the Navan Centre and Fort.

 

Gymnastics

Congratulations to Our Lady’s gymnasts who competed at the British Gymnastic championships in Stoke-on-Trent on May 8th 2010. The girls came away with silver and bronze for the pairs in the U19 and U13 pairs respectively. The U19 pair consisted of Cúshla Connor and Cara Cully alongside Kaitlinn Connor and Maeve Finnagan in the U13 category. Click here to see press clipping

 

The U13 team, which consisted of Kaitlinn Connor, Paula Mathers, Eimear Fearon, Kelsie Hughes, Nicole Johnston, Laura O’ Hagan and Maeve Finnegan, achieved bronze medal positions. The U19 team achieved fourth position in their competition and the team consisted of Cúshla Connor, Cara Cully, Aoife Fearon, Niamhellen Wallace, Tara O’ Hare, Aoife Bradley and Deirbhile Craven.

 

Dance

Congratulations to the 64 students that represented Our Lady’s Grammar School at Newry Feis on Thursday 13th May. The girls came away with the Sr Perpetua and Sr Gabriel Cups. This was the Senior category and both teams were highly commended.

This team represented 13 S1 GCSE PE students who are using Dance as one of their Practical Activity choices.

 

Athletics

Congratulations to Orla McAteer, Maria Kinkaid and Victoria Kinkaid who qualified for the Ulster Schools Track and Field Championships in the 3,000m, 800m and 1,500m respectively.
