Style in the City Fashion Show
Our
Lady's Grammar School presented the Style in the City fashion show in the Canal
Court's Millers Suite on Thursday, March 26.
A packed audience was treated to a small gift, kindly donated by Clarins, as they anticipated being given an insightful guide into the latest spring/summer collections from five local boutiques.

Silk, Berling, Kogal, Pillar Box Red and E O'Hare and Sons, Warrenpoint, showcased a range of quality clothing and each shop generously sponsored a professional model to make the night. a memorable occasion for everyone. Models were accessorized in the latest eyewear, which was provided by local optometrists, MacAdorey's Opticians.
Our Lady's Upper VI student, Helen McCusker, elegantly modeled throughout the show as did two male teachers Mr. Aaron Clements and Mr. Thomas Hackett. Local celebrity Susan McCann kindly donated her time to compere the evening. At a reduced cost, Mickey Mallon captured the whole production on video and Michael Canavan provided the lighting.

Our Lady's students provided musical entertainment throughout the proceedings. Ms Colette Lavery's flute ensemble welcomed guests into the Millers Suite and Mrs. Rosie Smyth's Irish Traditional Group provided entertainment during the interval.
A successful raffle was only possible by the generosity of local businesses and staff, which have continually supported the school's Zambia Project.
The show concluded with an outstanding display of the talent of the fifth and sixth form art students from Our Lady's as they modeled hats and dresses which were designed by themselves with the tireless help of their art teachers Ms Pritchard and Ms Caroline Gallagher-Lavery.
The evening raised a staggering £4500, which will help the school with its Zambia Project Fund.
Twelve Lower VI students who include Cara Cully, Grainne Lee, Catherine Campbell, Mairead Dyas, Kerrie McGuiness, Bronagh Murphy, Grace Higgens, Gemma Loy, Michelle Morgan, Erin Morgan, Mia MacAdorey and Hannah O'Rourke will accompany Helen Meehan, Leanne-McParland, Ms O'Gorman, Ms Maguire and Ms Keenan to Zambia with the charity Habitat for Humanity to give much needed housing aid to a deprived region, called Ibenga in the summer for 15 days.

The pupils and staff have worked tirelessly to ensure that their target of £37,500 is reached before Easter. The success of Style in the City has helped the group to get very close to its fundraising goal and Our Lady's would like to thank everyone who bought tickets and supported the show.
