Gold and Silver for Our Lady’s
Our Lady’s Grammar school students were victorious at the British Gymnastic Championships held in Stoke-on-Trent on 26th April 2008. The U19 Girls’ team came first in their category and were delighted with their Gold medals having beaten off stiff competition from twelve other qualifying schools. The U13 Girls’ team were silver medal winners at the event, again doing themselves very proud.
Their coach Mrs R. Connor was overjoyed with their achievement. Over the years Our Lady’s Gymnasts have won British Gold medals on eleven occasions and this year the U19 team have retained their British Title for the fourth consecutive year.
Given the very high standard of gymnastics which all qualifying teams have attained these medals represent a marvellous achievement for the young sportswomen of Our Lady’s. Many congratulations to you all!
