Irish Music Group 'Pléaráca'
Pléaráca is the name of the Our Lady's traditional music group. The name was chosen a few years ago and it means ‘joviality’ or ‘good crack’. Hopefully this is what the members of the group experience when they play together.
Pléaráca continues to meet twice a week during lunchtime and plays a range of tunes such as reels, jigs, hornpipes, polkas and airs. The girls perform at the school concert, Open Night and Masses.

Recently eight of them entered the Gael Linn competition ‘Siansa’. This involved making a ten minute recording of different tunes and a song in Irish. The results will be announced after Christmas! If the girls are chosen, they will be invited along to a series of workshops in February.
The following tunes were chosen for the recording:
· Absent Friends (Air) ~ composed by Kevin Crawford
· Emmet’s Hedgehog (Jig) ~ composed by Niall Vallely
· Na Buachaillí ‘Bhí Álainn ~ Traditional
· The Curragh Races (Polka) ~ Traditional
· Tommy Peoples Reel ~ Traditional
