Our Lady's Student Share in Historic Occasion

Our Lady's Grammar School students found themselves making history as they visited Stormont on the first time Gerry Adams and Ian Paisley reached agreement over power sharing.

The twelve lower sixth politics students were visiting government buildings as the eyes of the world were fixed on the possibility of a historic deal.  The students who are studying politics for AS level were on the trip by teachers Miss McVeigh and Miss McAteer and received a unique insight into Northern Ireland politics, meeting most of the big-hitting politicians including Sinn Fein President Gerry Adams and DUP leader Ian Paisley.

South Down Assembly member Caitriona Ruane helped organise the visit and introduce the girls to some of the politicians.
