Fair Trade Poster Competition

Newry Fair Trade Steering Group, an organisation which has been actively campaigning for fairtrade status for the border city, recently held a poster competition among local schools to publicise their campaign.

Pupils from Our Lady's G.S, St Colman's College, Sacred Heart G.S, St Joseph's H.S, and St Mary's H.S submitted artwork under the theme of fair trade.

The competition held in conjunction with Grounded Espresso Bar, was won by Our Lady's student Marie Clare Bradley, whose work will be used on Grounded's promotional literature.

Proprietor of Grounded, Graeme Finnegan praised the efforts of pupils from all the participating schools, and plans to display a selection of the entries in his Monaghan Street premises.
