Students Meet with President McAleese

Meeting the President was highlight of Spanish students' visit

Our Lady's Grammar School recently hosted a farewell party for several young people from Granada in southern Spain who had been staying in the area for the previous ten days.

The students, visiting Newry as part of annual Spanish Exchange programme, were guests of the Year 11 and Year 13 girls from Our Lady's who had visited Granada at Easter. During their time in Ireland the Spanish students visited the Giant's Causeway, Stormont and Cultra Folk and Transport Museum and also spent two days experiencing life in Our Lady's.

The highlight of the visit, however, was a trip to Aras an Uachtarain where they were welcomed and greeted in Spanish by President Mary McAleese.
